Conglomerate- Disney

A conglomerate is the combination of two or more corporations engaged in entirely different businesses that fall under one corporate group, usually involving a parent company and many subsidiaries. Often, a conglomerate is a multi-industry company. Conglomerates are often large and multinational.
An example of a conglomerate is Disney. Disney own a number of companies and TV channels which enables them to vertically integrate when making a film. This allows them to save money. Whereas, an independent film company would have to pay companies to work alongside them or promote their film (horizontal integration).
